Woman In Front Of A Mirror Poem by Charl JF Cilliers

Woman In Front Of A Mirror

The mirror stares
at her blank face:
inside the glass
not the faintest trace
of what she was
or is; no inkling why
she cannot see
the darknesses that lie
inside the glass
behind the eyes
that only express
the familiar surprise
of the loneliness
that she now shares.
