Woman's Rights - U S A Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

Woman's Rights - U S A

They demanded it,
They got it,
Equal rights, equal pay.
Equality in each and every way.

But, something has been lost,
Along the way.

That something is hard
To put into words -
A silence, a pause, a sadness,
Something, left unsaid.

May we all find peace and true equality, in work, in life and in love. I like your poem Hank, very much. Words that awake the mind, stir the heart.... that’s a good thing.

Your poem implies and suggests more than an obvious meaning. Something has been lost through the demands of feminists, namely an attitude towards men, I think. A most stimulating poem, could be controversial also.

I'm not sure women ever did get equal pay for the same work, except in the public school system.
