I wonder what would happen
If I should say to you
It's just too hard, I've had enough
Of the pain you put me through
Or if when I close my eyes to sleep my soul the Lord does take
And in the morning when you try to, you find I do not wake.

I wonder what would happen
If one day I wasn't there
Would you cry for me and mourn me
Would you beg for my return
Would you wish for one more moment
One last kiss that we could share
Or would you even notice that I simply wasn't there
