Wood Girls Haiku Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Wood Girls Haiku

Wood girls
Lumber Jills
forests echo to girl's yells

steel helmets
uncomfortable to wear
blossom on the tree

better rhythm than men
our saw
saw off all comers

the War
makes us foresters
timber....here we come

German P.O.W.
gathers primroses
for his guard
