Wooden Blocks With Strings Poem by Derek Kuborn

Wooden Blocks With Strings

I knew a vessel that I once boarded
It had the skin of a middle aged man
And through his eyes I saw the world
Different then I ever saw before
It was peaceful and I was dormant
And I would turn my love into a swirl
And I'm taking over I said I'm taking over

I made my bed in his thoughts
And I'm rather comfortable now
And the strings on his limbs
Are moving out and about
And now I float in his dreams
And I smile as he glares
I'm a notorious theif
I'll even steal his stares

I found a man to carry my things
He had the courtesy of a bell boy
I gave him a suitcase for him to bring
It was full of memories for me to enjoy
I received my room within his mind
And my sleep gets better every time
So I'm taking over I said I'm taking over

I made my bed in his thoughts
And I'm rather comfortable now
And the strings on his limbs
Are moving out and about
And now I float in his dreams
And I smile as he glares
I'm a notorious thief
I'll even steal his stares
