Woodland Summers Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Woodland Summers

As is a moment unto the sum
Reason logical, unlike a prosody forgotten
Summer sweating- Sap runs longer
Dripping much so, like spaghetti

Beware the rain of pine trees yawning
A sounding crackle in the air
Spilling tomorrow for their hereafter
Sets them free to flutter far and near

Little darling baby faces
A gentle breeze of springlike air
Carefree is the coming' born
None afraid and have no fear

Upon this day of every summer
Once upon a midnight year
When time has taken all our sorrows
Fresh again the woodland air
