Words Poem by Sharad Rajimwale

Words

Once words were healers
and I thought all my woes turned into blossoms
under the nectar shower.
Carefully crafted words used to build a radiant
world of beauty.
The joy of listening grew like exulting fledglings
asstreams of words washed over
a troubled spirit.
Like guardians they would lead us
to the quest of Truth
into an endless exploration of inner light.

Suddenly words acquired a deadly edge
and thunder that cut and sear
to spread terror as they march
in unending assault for no reason.
They build a shroud around the spirit
that suffocates ity.
They come as challenges
They lurk as conspirators
They flash like daggers
They hit like a hidden fist
They are eager to demolish
I've no option but to sit and shut my ears.
The bridges have collapsed

Like debris words fly around
in chaotic cloud.
