Words Poem by Kay Moore

Words

Sticks and stones, will break your bones,
But names will never hurt you!
Now that verse, is perverse, this Itell you true,
Words that bullies, throw around, can sting and bruise you too.
Some are very clever, and use their words to fight.
They don't care what they say, be it day or night,
Some come from your best friends, and some come from your foe,
Some come from perfect strangers, that you don't even know.
So pull yourself together, stand up straight, and walk away,
Cause there will always be a bully, heading right our way.
I don't believe thecockamamie, that some bright soul dished out,
So now we know the truth, we can dance and sing and shout.
Sticks and stones CAN harm you, that we know for sure,
But hateful words and malice, are unacceptable, to the core.
Bullies are just cowards, just ignore them forever more.
