A word, a word cannot explain it,
A tear, a tear could not mourn for it,
A heart, my heart could never feel it,
An eye can’t see it, even if you saw it.
We can cry like it was our own child,
And pray like we’ve never prayed before,
We could even get out there and help,
But we couldn’t see it, even if we saw…
Even if we saw the tears in their eyes
Because they haven’t eaten for ten days,
Even if we held them in our arms
And cried and closed our eyes to pray.
Even if we knew all that had happened,
And the torture they had been through,
There is no way that we could ever see
Or know everything that we could do.
A word, a word cannot explain it,
A tear, a tear could not mourn for it,
A heart, my heart could never feel it,
And eye can’t see it, even if you saw it.
