Words Left Unread Mean Nothing Poem by Aplier Hao

Words Left Unread Mean Nothing

Rating: 5.0

What's so wrong with humans
That makes but one thing right
The only thing we ever do
Is continue just to fight
I've seen it all around me
From the day I first saw light

In the home, at my school
By the park, on the street
Whole neighborhoods at war
As gangs begin to compete
A city gone up in flames
Is all there's left to see

What's so wrong with humans
That makes but one thing right
The only thing we ever do
Is continue just to fight
I've seen it all around me
From the day I first saw light

Men in suits play dress up
Dressing their foes in lies
It's all a quest for power
A political enterprise
We the people choose the man
Who wears the best disguise

What's so wrong with humans
That makes but one thing right
The only thing we ever do
Is continue just to fight
I've seen it all around me
From the day I first saw light

Long ago it used to be
That wars were fought by hand
Now all it takes is a red button
And one to give the command
So of course we always will
Fail to truly understand

What's so wrong with humans
That makes but one thing right
The only thing we ever do
Is continue just to fight
I've seen it all around me
From the day I first saw light

But if I were to close my eyes
The suffering will just increase
I shudder when I take a look
At the monster god released
So let me ask this of the world
Why cant there just be peace?

I liked your title and loved your poem. The title caught my attention your lyrics kept me reading, pondering and considering the why (fight) of it all. Keith
