Long as ye live, haply live in fun,
Beg or borrow or steal,
But eat big, best of meal,
All's when burnt, body, blood, all the bone,
No one's known ever once to return.

Transliteration of the subhāśhita along with the meanings of Sanskrit words is given as under:

yāvat jīvet sukham jīvet rūņam kŗtvā ghŗtam pibet |
bhasmī-bhūtasya jīvasya punah āgamanam kutah ||

yāvat: as long as
jīvet: (I)live
sukham jīvet:happily live
rūņam kŗtvā: raising debt
ghŗtam:ghee, butter
pibet: do thouI drink
bhasmī-bhūtasya: of (the body that's)burnt to ashes
jīvasya: the mortal body/soul/remains
punah: again
āgamanam: coming back, returning
kutah: how (is it possible) ?
