Workers Like Everest Summit Mountain Climbers Poem by Terence George Craddock

Workers Like Everest Summit Mountain Climbers

when is a worker like an Everest summit mountain climber...
when that colossal project months years in planning
long months years in construction execution
is finally approaching epic finish
when the worker like an Everest summit mountain climber
is near the summit takes exhausted last few steps
stands on the rooftop of the world
to cast exhausted gaze across

peaks Himalayan mountain ranges and can say
like Sir Edmound Hiliary did with sherpa Tenzing Norgay
after the summit
climb in exaltation supreme effort
vindication ''we knocked
the bastard off''

Before making it in real you work hard and slog for years, the preparation goes unnoticed only result and glory is celebrated. A wonderful poem.
