Working in a rural hospital is truly hard,
With limited resources, you must always be on guard,
With the tertiary hospital many hours away,
Transporting unstable patients is a challenge each day,

Being understaffed and lacking equipment is truly stressful,
Especially in emergencies when you need that extra push and pull,
The pressure working here is just so high,
Doing our level best to make sure the patients do not die,

The work is so much that it leaves me out of breath,
Improvising on treatments to prevent morbidity and death,
Working in a rural hospital is an experience like no other,
The challenge of saving the lives of each father, child and mother,

But nothing quite beats the feeling of healing the ill,
Bringing them back to health with the height of knowledge and skill,
The happy faces the patient makes with their warm smile,
Makes all the hard work i go through truly worthwhile.
