World Sickness (Dark) Poem by R.K. Cowles

World Sickness (Dark)

There's an illness on this Earth
I said there's an illness on this Earth! ! !
I'm not speaking of flues, colds
upset stomachs, fevers, nor dirrhea
I'm speaking of hatred
Indulging itself upon
Our greatest inner depths
of our minds
So we'll be compelled to discriminate
Produce clichés upon others
And establish stereotypes

There's a sickness on this planet
I said there's a sickness on this planet! ! !
I'm not speaking of hepatitis, pneumonia
tumors, yellow fever, nor leukemia
I'm speaking of greed
Satisfying oneself upon its craving
To own an object they not being in need of
Doesn't desire antone else to possess it
I hunger for it
Got to own it for myself
Not yours, can't have it
Mine, mine, mine, mine
Want it all
Not to wish anyone else to retain it

There's an illness in this world
I said there's an illness in this world! ! !
I'm not speaking of measles, chicken pox
small pox, allergies, nor mumps
I'm speaking of paranoia
Gratifying itself upon our greatest
Abyssmal interior of our minds
Allowing to have one's fear to pass to oneself
Accepting one's anxiety to oneself
And cause unnnecessary panic

There's a sickness on this globe
I said there's a sickness on this globe! ! !
I'm not speaking of tuberculosis, sore throat
the plague, malaria, nor cancer
I'm speaking of ignorance
Nurturing upon the deepest innermost
of our minds
Allowing others for the intention of
contemplate for us
Despite they detain not the knowledge
of what they analyze
Neglecting the education of that subject
In which you ought to seek

The Earth is plagued with sickness amongst it
