World Tb Day 2016 At Kfmsr, Cbe Poem by Dr John Celes

World Tb Day 2016 At Kfmsr, Cbe

Those were the days, when drugs had not been found;
Those were the days when TB killed and maimed;
Those were the days when TB consumed most;
The Phthisis bacillus wasn't discovered.

And people died like flies, both young and old;
Celebrities and common subjects died;
The MMR was used to screen people;
Sanatoria housed the infected!

But Robert Koch changed history by his work;
He found the bacillus that caused havoc;
And newer drugs came very fast to treat;
And spread of infection and deaths came down.

The war against the TB germ isn't o'er!
Resistant germs are spreading everywhere;
New diagnostics is helping detect fast;
Though things are much better, all is not well.
