World Wonder Poem by Jess Silva

World Wonder

And maybe this love breaks, a tender whisper,
A heart that is open for all to see, a flower laid bare,
These rights and wrongs they have no place,
No act is too hard to follow,
Just climb inside with your hands spread wide,

Be still, be free from these corners,
To roam within each other’s arms, a keepsake,
This fire rising from the ceiling to the floor,
Beginning at the end, what’s been is now before,

A lasting limb, spread over one another,
Lights too bright, a laugh so warm,
Quick to choose a word so small,
Carry me you must not,
Above me you succeed.

One of these we cannot see,
Of places that we long for, push against me,
Leaving memories along our seams,
Faint traces of where you have been,
Ribbons of red, connect these dots,
A world wonder of our very own.
