Worth Poem by Robert Sheridan

Worth

Around the world in circles turning
Earning what we can
Take a chance to light another’s day
Before their lives are blotted out
A person’s character lives from within
Do it with patience and tenacity times two;
Sing, and others will sing your song
Keep it moving, check the pulse, don’t despair
If you found the meaning of truth
Don’t let anyone tempt you with heaven or hell
Find the reason to live on – not to die
Someone’s got to win in the human race;
The so-called teachers and preachers will just buy and sell you
Let knowledge hang around your neck like pearls
Poor people just don’t understand
Be just what you are – take them by the hand
If you are what you are ...
But never forget, always look over your shoulder;
Try to make everything in your life just as it should be
And dream of a better life ahead
Don’t play the game of here today and gone tomorrow
Live for ever on the ever ever
If you’ve found the secret try not to blow it
Take a chance to light another’s way.

This poem has worth. The line I love best is this: 'Sing, and others will sing your song' Thanks for writing.
