Heather Taylor

another day another dollar
another phone call
another sentance ignored
so now you have to hollar
so many places to see
so little time
you wish you could get up
and leave at the drop
of my next dime
another heart broken
another child raped
someone right now
is being secretly taped
this cold world
was created by man
we're to blame
we all gave a hand
the intense nature of things
the outlook you bear
without a trace
of feeling in the air;
it's sad really
the way you feel
but you've brainwashed yourself
you don't see what's real
another sad love song
is racking my brain like crazy
life never fails
to kindly amaze me
to this filthy life
is another mind lost
before they sold you themselves
you didn't tell them their cost
but i would never expect that of you
for it would ruin your plan
'cause if you can't hurt them
no one can!
another gun fired
your life taken
it's too bad
your eyes couldn't sooner awaken

Poem of the Day

poet Alfred Edward Housman

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.
