Wrap Me In Your Wings Poem by Colin Coplin

Wrap Me In Your Wings

Rating: 4.5

Everybody’s searching for a hero
Someone on whom they can rely
I’m like everybody else, I just learnt to help myself
Along this road they call life

Wrap me in your wings
Keep me warm, keep me safe from harm
Show me wondrous things
Take me places, I could only dream
You’re epitaph is all you want it to be
I’m like you, you’re like me
You’re epitaph is what you want it to be
I’m like you, you’re like me
Wrap me in your wings

Faces they age
Each line a decade carved in time
Live your life well
Fill your cup, enjoy all that's fine
Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life
You'll do fine

Everybody’s looking for an answer
To problems they don’t understand
The only problems that I see, are inaction, fear and greed
Cut the noose to set you free

We all need the same sun
Ever since the dawn of time
We all share the same God
We just call him by a different name
Turn the water into wine
Reap the seeds sewn, you’ll be fine
Turn the water into wine
Reap the seeds sewn, you’ll be fine
Wrap me in your wings

Everybody’s looking for some shelter
Some place safe from the storm
I built a castle around me, laid every stone piece by piece
Now in my tower, come rescue me

Follow your dreams
Ride the wind to tomorrows shore
Enjoy all life brings
Take your chances but give a little more
The distant drum beats loud and clear
For all those with ears and want to hear
The distant drum beats loud and clear
So tap your feet, or run with fear
Wrap me in your wings

Faces they age
Each line a decade, carved in time
Live your life well
Fill your cup, enjoy all that's fine
Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life
You'll do fine

Everybody is searching for somebody
To share a love, a life, a laugh
I’ll cry tomorrow if need be, today is what I let it be
Loneliness hurts, so I choose to live

Wrap me in your wings
Keep me warm, keep me safe from harm
Show me wondrous things
Take me places, I could only dream
You’re epitaph is all you want it to be
I’m like you, you’re like me
You’re epitaph is all you ever want it to be
I’m like you, you’re like me
Wrap me in your wings
