Writers Retreat Poem by Kay Moore

Writers Retreat

Rating: 5.0

Try and find a quiet place, is what the teacher said,
To sit, and think, and meditate, and loosen up your head.
Let your thoughts run wild and free, or conjure up a storm,
Let life's glow, take over you, as daybreak does the dawn.
It's there for the taking, enjoy the ride,
Go with the flow, or run with the tide.
Release your anxieties, right out of the way,
Don't think of world problems, at all to-day.
Dismiss self doubts, grief and pain,
Make a fresh start, life's only a game.
We're all here alone, within ourself, and yet,
We all possess an inner glow.
That with others we'll share, along life's weary road.
Living and loving, is there for the taking,
A small price to pay for the future we're making.
Surely it's happiness, the goal we all seek,
As we travel in time, as we sow, so we'll reap.
We've all had experiences, large and small,
So to put it to pen, is no trouble at all.
And I'm sure you'll find, sharing these with others,
Is your link with the world,
To your sisters and brothers.
