Y Escutcheon Mirage Poem by stewart green

Y Escutcheon Mirage

Darkness shines in
Refracting off the escutcheon
Transforming it white and pure
Yet I know its black desires

Rebel hero is talking online
Like a price with his queen
What an incestuous surprise
I know where he and she’s been

The faltering chameleon
Misses its target yet again
Burning the same old flame
Still wearing my ring

Angry sucking bee
Habitually milking the flower
Cross pollinating the dead
And the dry plastic flowers

Of the thick cloud cover tonight
I didn’t know it was full moon
With the stars to guide her
She’s a dark ship lost at sea

The tar is ending soon
In three, two, one
Then o weary traveller
Turn East or turn right

Have you lost your way?
An old red smile
To guide me back home
I am not alone
