Yesterday I had a walk in a poor neighborhood
Yesterday I lost the road for the first time for good
I was cautious I was scared from the things that people say
But I was curious enough to dare and cross that street that day
Kids playing all around with traditional simple games
I couldn't help but to join remembering the old days
Grandpas working in the field, growing vegetables and fruits
Grandmas cooking healthy food for the family, relatives and roots
Teens walking back from school which is 2 hours away
Dads building warm homes for people to sleep and pray
Moms washing by the river with their tired lovely hands
Adults working day and night saving for the bad times
I heard some music by the sunset
It is time for dinner, I was invited
I sat on the floor just like everyone else
To share love, respect, honesty and wealth
It is hard to describe that moment in a word
It is like it is paradise and the world is war
No more sun, no more lights
Its time for bed; I heard the 'good nights'
Wish I could stay but I had to say 'bye'
They said I am welcome anytime to pass by
Yesterday I had a walk in a poor neighborhood
And if you ask me: would you pass by again?
I would say: "YOU Should! "
