Yesterday, I saw you

I took one look at you

And you took my breath away

When you grabbed my hand

And squeezed it gently

I then exhaled

Yesterday when you looked at me

Time, for me, stood still

Cause my mind was light years away

Wrapped in the depths of your soul

My image mirrored in the blackness

Of your pupils, reflections of

Things we’d experienced and live to tell

Saving each other with an embrace

Of Love’s secret

Yesterday, when you kissed me

It was as if you’d never kissed before

But with the passion of many

And today when I kissed you back

I felt the heavy weight lift from my heart

As you kissed my pain away.
