You Always Accepted The Flowers Poem by Stephen Pennell

You Always Accepted The Flowers

You always accepted the flowers
Yet you threw my heart away, One dark, dark summers day.
Yes, You threw that heart away
Yet it still beat to your tune
It danced to the sound of your voice
But you cast that heart away
How did you decide, Was it a toss of a coin, Pull leaves of a flower
love me, love me not
Or did you just break my heart for fun today.
