You And I Poem by Kishore Asthana

You And I

1.

There are times
When we do not laugh together
Sometimes
They are the best

2.

When the lawn is soft
When the lawn is soft
And I end, in a hard centre
A pain imprisoned
Dying for release
Till it all explodes
In an epileptic seizure
of the mind
An electric discharge
Of the being
Like a flash of lightning
Of me
In you

3.

My lines for you
Are wisps of love
From deep inside

Like a pale full moon
Low in the sky
Soft strokes of a brush
With pastel colours

Like the sound of bangles
After dark
They come and go
Like strands of mist
In the morning

But

Somewhere I know
They are always there

4.

The touch of the tongue
And arching up
The velvet taste
Of lost inhibitions
The ecstatic bliss
Of empathy

5

In polite company, I want nothing more
Than to kiss you with words
of several syllables
To hold you close
By a look so naked
That others would stop calling us over
Or want us to stay,
Permanently
