You And Me Poem Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

You And Me Poem

You And Me Poem

If l could give you enought reasons,
if God has his own reasons for the genesis

If nothing descends from the darkness,
And dreams are likesurfaces on thedark waters,

And life was just a painting of surreal misinterpretations,
No hopes, no anchor, or reasons for its continuations,

And life was not a breathing of songs,
Of big animals, giant trees, swift birds, and enchanted paradise,

If nights would not unwound its miserable isolations,
If you lose hope in this world and the reasons for believing in anything,

Then God was notright in creating a man and a woman for his altars
His pulpits for his penultimate lithurgy.
His reasons, visions and the poetry for creating you and me.
