You Are Poem by Skylark Woodrow

You Are

Rating: 5.0

You have a song to sing,
A tale to tell.
You have a story deep inside you; crying out,
And fighting to get out.
Your song is who you are,
It doesn't depend on your past,
It depends on the future you choose to live.
It depends on who you truly are on the inside,
It depends on that part of you you try to hide and protect from any vengeful eye.
It depends on the fire that burns inside you;
The fire that is ever flickering, refusing to go out.
You try and try to make it die so that you could be like everyone else,
But it refuses to die and let you live that lie;
Because you were made for so much more.
You were made to stand up and show others who you were truly meant to be.
So do not let others make you think that who you are isn't good enough,
Isn't cool enough,
And make you feel so ashamed,
Because you are worth more that you will ever know,
And who you really are is what everybody really needs.

Your song is who you are, It doesn't depend on your past, It depends on the future you choose to live. It depends on who you truly are on the inside, It depends on that part of you you try to hide and protect from any vengeful eye. Your song, a fine and living expression of the songs that we all sing.. in life and love. tony
