a rain that cools the summer air,
cotton sheets and vanilla candles,
the cotton candy smell of a county fair.

You are the song without a title stuck in my head,
distant laughter on a spring afternoon,
the lonely whistle of the wind on a dark quiet night.
You are the only star in my sky, and I am the moon.

You are my only thought when I'm frightened.
You are in every tear that I shed.
You are the joy in my laughter.
You are in every prayer I've ever said.

You are the key that opens all the love inside me.
You are the reason in all my dreams.
You are the soul of all the songs I'm singing
You are the end for all my means.
