You Are My Refuge Poem by Leanne Brigoli

You Are My Refuge

See how high these tides are
They want to drown me as soon as they can
Then I remember I was like a big man
Floating in an ocean finding no land

Every line has been entangled
And all I could see is unknown and undone
These terrible terrible nothing I see
Consuming all my tranquility

When every brick of my temple
Losses its grip to endure a little longer
When every watchtower of my temple
Losses its power to fortify a little longer

Remind me of yours
Where every wall is made up of stones
They withstand the raging waves
They keep everything inside safe
