You Are You Poem by Amy Stuart

You Are You

What is wrong?
all the time I see your face,
what's going on?

It's never been like that before
I know it's impossible
but I want more.

Those dreams will haunt me
until I see you again,
nothing will scare me
until I loose you my friend.

Is it wrong to look at you that way?
Is it okay to think about you
all day?

It's never been like that before,
I know it's impossible
but I need more.

I don't know what to do,
you're gone one day
and I'm missing you.

What if something happened to you
and I wouldn't be there
to tell you what's true:
together we are strong,
when we're together nothing can go wrong.

I want to keep you safe
when the lights seem to go down on you
and when life seems to tear you apart,
don't you know I will be there
to give you hope and warm up your heart?

I want to make you smile
when you feel like the sun will never shine,
I want help you stand tall
and with your head held high
when something made you
scream, suffer or cry.

I want to make your life a little better

You're the only person
that deserves all of these things.

And please believe me
when I'm telling you,
you're one of the best people
I will ever know.
And you are you
