You Determine Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

You Determine

by Freeyad Ibrahim

She told me I see nothing fine
I told her you are surely mine
Away from you I am distressed
Close to you I live very fine
Without you I cannot eat
Beside you I with demons dine
I am intoxicated with your eyes
Your eyes excess the power of wine
The space suddenly is filled with light
Does the sun of your countenance shine?
All distressed life is mine
All cheerful images are thine
Don't give me a glass of wine
You need not, your eyes are my wine
My life is totally eclipsed
from your face there is no sign
Joys and sadness are mine
Sighs from me, rapture is thine
Years have come and gone without finding you
when I sought you in my youth, it was deadline
I sought out bankruptcy just one cent
Finding you I've found a goldmine
I am afraid I'd not meat you in my life
whether a new candle would stand
on the coming birthday cake of mine
Far from me, my soul stands on my lips
Get out or retour you may determine
