You Have Wings Poem by KAVIN CHARALAN

You Have Wings

Owner opened the cage
Set the bird free
Bird came out of the cage
Looked here and there
And was about to return to the cage
Owner smiled and said
'My dear bird you are free fly away'
O you have forgot that you have wings
Then he gently touched and caressed its wings
The bird rose and fluttered its wings for a while
And flew like an arrow into the blue sky

There are nations and people in the world
They understood that they have wings
and they set themselves free from the clutches of tyrannical rulers
Still there are nations that live like caged birds
They know that they have wings and belong to that sky
But no one is there to stoke their wings with fire
When will they spread the wondrous thing called Wings
And enjoy the free air of the blue sky.
