You Kept Me Up At Night Poem by Nathaniel Aaron Bryant

You Kept Me Up At Night

Exhausted thinking of you all night
Wishing you were here to hold so tight
I have thoughts of you, if only they could be embraced
The thought of our last kiss gives my mouth a bitter taste
If trusting in you is like waiting for rain
Its summer in the desert and I'm on a quick quest for pain
You told me that if you ever stopped
caring somehow you'd let me know
Things don't look so good now and your promise was so long ago
Everytime the phone rings I pray that its you
I only wish you could see this from my point of view
In my shoes you be the one feeling bad
You'd realize it was such a loss giving up what we had
