You Know Where Ive Been So Come Home Poem by carlos mendoza

Maybe i can go to sleep now.
Ill have music playing in the background
why cant i just make you proud
if i get up will it make you come around?

I need a reason to wake up
i need a reason to sleep
i've never felt this lonesome
i need you here with me

you gave me three miracles
two of them were kids
one is unspeakable
cuz now it might not exist

of course im talking about love
the kind you used to give
i know i wasnt enough
who are you trying to kid

when you say that you love me
that you feel worse for them
because they need their daddy
but you know where i've been

so come home...
for a little while.
bring my son
and my baby girl's smile
because i wont
be able to right now
and you know...
youre the only one..
youre the only one..
youre the only one who can.
