You’re in My Prayers, I Wish You Could Hear Them
By Uriah Lee Hamilton
Gentle birdsong at dawn,
I like to find myself mingled in sunrise
With hope still lingering in my heart.
Like Walt Whitman and St. Francis
I could easily live with the animals,
My ideas, love, and loyalty
All simple, sweet, and non-harmful.
When we leave this life,
We return to the earth,
This really is reincarnation
And rejuvenation.

St.Francis is one of my favorite saints and I'm not even Catholic. He was so beautiful, it makes me smile to think of him. And the life he embraced was full of magic. Prayer opens the door to magic I think, of the type that makes life worth living. And to be praying for another is the mark of an advanced soul. The perfect expression of love. What a gorgeous poem Uriah.
