It is always, and oh so never
It can linger on for years
Burrowing deep in memories
The smiles and so many tears
And in the end you have no choice
Puts your heartbeat up in your throat
Then kills your sweet scared voice
Always waiting out another lonely night
Hoping that this tomorrow
The world would seem half right
I still don't get how I choke up
Every time we seem to talk
You're all I want, I know that
Why can't I open up and tell you
Maybe you feel the same way too
What's the worst that I could lose
I don't have you as it is
I need to dropp this weight
To let myself feel free
You ruin every song I listen to
And inspire all these lines
It would be easier for us
At the best of times
To be hopeful under these gray skies
One last thing I thought you ought to know
It doesn't matter how much I love you
This distance is tearing me apart
