You Took Something Poem by Amber Swiney

You Took Something

I cry in the night.
In the room with no light.
You took something
You took it from me.
A hand covers my mouth
it is not my own.
I was just a child.
But you were grown.
You planted pain
Where my soul should be.
I hid it inside.
So the world couldn't see.
you took something
you took it from me.
Innocence lost.
taken from me at a cost.
Yes, indeed you took something.
You took it from me.
