I walked silently,
you followed in my midst.
Watching, waiting.
For the perfect time to pounce,
just like the panther you are.
When you pounced on me,
I screamed for help.
No one ever came.
I gave up,
and went peacefully.
I let you bound my hands,
I did not resist.
I do not want to die
so I listened to your every command.
You laughed in my face
'Why are you hurting me? '
You snickered and sneered,
'Because my dear,
you were in the wrong place at the wrong time'
That night,
I spoke my last words.
You slit my throat,
although I begged and pleaded.
You dumped my body in the river,
and now I sleep with the fishes
