You Were The One Poem by Ray Hansell

You Were The One

I thought you really loved me
I thought you really cared
But this morning when I woke up
I didn't find you there

What a strange sensation
Waking up all alone
My heart felt so empty
The worst hurt it's ever known

With all the dreams we shared
All the times we said we cared
Now when I wake up
I'm filled with dispair

Please know that I still love you
I probably always will
Because loving you
Was my life's greatest thrill
