When the odds were against me

All I could wish for was a hand to hold

When the tides turned against me

All I wanted was someone who would listen

I wished for all the pain in me to go away

Then gradually I began to hope again

For YOU were there for me! !


I prayed day and night for a miracle

I fasted for days, just for the long awaited sign

All began to fade when nothing new popped up

I began to wail

Yet still I kept faith

I wished for a long awaited partner

Forgetting that my partner was always there with me

Then I began to flee from my woes

But YOU showed me that YOU were always there for me! !


Now I can stand tall

I can cross all bridges and climb every mountain

I can boast of having what no one can deny me of

I pray this feeling never fades

For I can now see the light

I believe in YOU

For YOU have really proven YOURSELF

But one thing I will never forget

Something which will always stay with me

Is that YOU were always there for me.
