Your Dreamer (Song Lyrics) Poem by Mary Newlon

Your Dreamer (Song Lyrics)

I'm gone fishing in the pool of dreams
and I'm stuck with the shallow side.
You obviously havent taken a stroll through my world.
It's not exactly a walk through the land of opportunities.

I'm not living the life.
I'm dreaming my dream,
and I'm simply exsisting:
In my world.

It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt.
Oh no, oh no, It's just for kicks.

I've been taken for granted
I just try to make the best of everything
I try to make my nothing into something.
And move up in my life
I've been so down.

The secret's out, they're closing in.
They took my dreams
and my chance for it.

I'm like the fire and you turned on the water:
You stole my goals, killed my future.
And melted my chances.

I gave my everything, and got nothing in return.

They say all dreams are stupid and pointless.
And they'll prosper to crush them for you.
Fight for it.

Dreams are more than a toss or turn under the sheets.
They're more than a thrill under your eyelids.
They schedule your life.
I won't ever quit, I want them mine again.
