Your Own Medicine Poem by Velvet Thorn

Your Own Medicine

Rating: 5.0

Serendipitous encounter
A sudden surprise
A chance once again
To look in your eyes

A few short hours
Not even a day
The memories rush in
Then you're off on your way

Why have you awakened
These feelings in me
I thought they were gone
Where no one could see

So useless these feelings
Impractical and wrong
The embers inflamed
By your poetry and song

A betrayal, to feel this
I'll pretend that I don't
Reality will help me
(Well, maybe it won't.)
