Yours Sincerely, Brady Poem by Jessica Lindsey

Yours Sincerely, Brady

So with flawless execution
You've left me hanging without conclusion
You, with the strength of twenty men
Claim to fear the wrath of a single one?
You know it's not my style to yell or rage
No, but to leave me through a text message?
Jessica, I expected so much more
Than to be left without so much as a what for.
Two weeks together and you made it clear
That you were unsure where we would go from here
Then last Thursday went and slept with your ex
Who does that? But I've accepted both aspects.
The sad part is the ONE THING that I asked,
Don't treat me like I'm the same as all the rest
The ones to whom you cannot just say no
You led me on when you wanted me to go.
Jessica, shame on you, you knew
How I felt, I am so hurt by you
You don't want my love, you lied to me!
And the worst part is, you've no respect for me.
Who you are and everything you do
Sculpts the world and all things around you-
This is YOUR WORLD and we all just play a part
And though I don't wish this, I say it from the heart
You're wonderful with personality
But like this you will end up sad and lonely.
As it stands, you owe no explanation
Though I would accept one with appreciation
For some closure but the choice is yours
And speaking of what else is yours-
The things I've ordered will still come
They won't be cancelled, what's done is done.
Please know that I will miss you
And please have no misgivings
I never lied to you or to MYSELF
About any of my feelings.
Thank you for the time you spent
And all the fun we've had
At times you've made me feel better
Than anyone else has.
You were an amazing chapter
And I'll cherish our time together.

Well, I guess then, I'll be seeing you
In all the old, familiar places
In every lovely, summer's day
You're everything my heart embraces
Take care, I love you, baby
Yours Sincerely,
Brady.
