Yourself Poem by Josh Ras

Yourself

Behave yourself
Enslave yourself
Maintain your own restraints
Save yourself
From yourself
They must think you’re a saint

Mistrust yourself
Thrust yourself
In someone else’s power
Chide yourself
Hide yourself
Each minute and each hour

Hate yourself
Berate yourself
For you’re the one who’s wrong
Lose yourself
Abuse yourself
They must think you belong

Mistrust yourself
Adjust yourself
Act how they think you should
Jail yourself
Derail yourself
Just make them think you’re good.
