A passenger

It is the day when the young hearts beat faster
In happy anticipation the mind too remains eager
It is the day when one may lavish gifts or offer a simple flower
For when you have presented your heart can anything be dearer?

Had I been born a Buddhist
My perception of religion would have been different
Had I been born an American
My perception of world polity would have been different

The old lady Jill
Who had fallen ill
Took a golden pill
From a fairy who lived on the hill.

Just like a blooming flower that opens up to the dawn
Just like a bird that sings in the morn
Just like the floating full-moon that is into the night sky born
Just like an oasis in a vast desert forlorn

Hide and seek
Hide and seek,
I shall hide
And you shall seek.

Those were the days when I looked at rain and thunder

With a racing heart full of awe and wonder,

I live under your skin
You too live under mine,
For human hopes and emotion
Under our skin do rhyme.

I sat to write a cheerful lyric
And then tried to spun out of it a song,
But the tune and rhythm somehow didn’t click
Something somewhere had gone wrong.

I wake up in the morning
Along with the Sun
And the two of us then together
Have lots of fun.
