The phone rings dead
the wind blows loud
the sun comes up

You can't see it but it hurts me real bad.
I'm not bleeding but it feels that I am.
I can still stand but I'm on my knees.
Something so large sitting on me.

been down the highway

I kissed you once
when we were kids
you couldn't stop
thinking about it

It's been a long road to where we are now
been a lot of bad choices we survived somehow
lookin down the road and what do I see
your pretty face smiling back at me

I can see the light
your grace has bestowed on me
like a beacon in the night
your love has kept me free

Backed myself in a corner
with nowhere to go
Spent most of my going
where no one will follow

Sitting in this hospital
Like I got no where else to be
Waiting for the doctor
To lay it out for me

I come in here for the food

I may show up for the game
