Scott Stanley Davis Poems

I have a granddaughter and to my surprise, she has been right there by my side; The first time I cared for her, she lifted her head, and looked for her mother, but I was there instead; When all others went out to play; she would look for me that day, and say I want to be with you okay? She helped me plant, flowers and plants and even built me a house for my ants; I taught her how to dance and dance, and boy could she just prance and prance,

I wanted to write a poem of someone, but it had to wait because I wanted to communicate it and get it straight; I did not wish to underrate it, but to demonstrate that I wanted to create it:

Why do I fall in love with the wrong person? is there any light to show me tonight; when they shove me around, like a O'glove they just found. I want to just bury my head and never show it above the ground;

What is it about rain that is in the night, for you cannot see the clouds without sunlight; as you sleep on a soft bed with covers over your head, but there it is a drip drop instead; It does not interfere with the atmosphere, this I know is so clear; As you rest on a your bed, then must wake up to close the window, as it rains on the weeping willow and not on your pillow you just fled.

I spoke to her from a phone, I text her from my home, I posted on facebook, and I am not alone; then I decided to recite her a poem of sweetness and light; even though I don't really know her despite; loved by all that knows her, and her family they so adores her.

An Armenian Pearl, A man I am going to critique, he is not a greek and not from Mozambique, he is a man soft spoken and kind and surreal, is he for real? I can tell you this for sure, so lets give this a grand tour. I will not tell you about all his struggles or even his troubles, because this is all so common even among all his cousins.

When I was a young man, I had a dream of a baby girl, as she was sitting on a couch, with hair that was thick and black as a barbecue rack, it was shoulder length and that was a fact; she was two as I saw her and soon after I learned from her mother that she was expecting another, for we already had a son and that was her brother;

This is Shirley she is very girlie and a mother of one; She has been a nurse for many years in this Universe and graduated from her class as first; As a nurse she has worked many hours missing lunches but never missing many punches.

My mother has a nickname, and unlike many others its uncluttered and as smooth as butter, and as I say this in a poetic way, a Lady I was about to say. How do you put into words today, someone who has cared for you in a heavenly way; as she wipes your nose and cleaned burp off your clothes:

I had an event that was really bad and I felt really sad, So I got a ride and was so teary eyed to the hospital called Mercy; I met several nurses who all were kind, but one I was assigned. Her name was Laura, who has such a aura that is only seen in the Torah;

There is a social worker, who has a name that I do proclaim and I'm not ashamed and in my mind she is so acclaimed. Her name is Lacy, she is not racy nor Stacy and will never be Tracy. She is not a little bird so don't you be absurd because I overheard she can be Chauffeured, even if she is only third.

There are a lot of nurses and that is a good thing right? and that's a delight, but I am not going to write about them tonight. For I saw a nurse who is polite and very upright and not very big in height. She watches over the watchers for that's what a nurse is forthright. She had a smile that was as big as a mile and carried herself with style, like Michael of basketball fame who swirled and curled in his way and played in Bombay, but if he got hurt wouldn't he need a nurse?

Its Mary, the name says it all; but let me tell you about another someone spun from the same son, for I seen his word sitting there by her side, and looked like it was her guide, I am sure she has applied. But this one works in an office surrounded by clerks and talks on the phone to sometimes jerks, who lurk with a smirk;

I have a brother and he is like no one other, he is bright and upright and can sing like Brian Mcknight; He is a father and thought life's many plights and slights and even smites, But has prevailed and never has been derailed. He has the coolness of a professor and is a great assessor and not a bad dresser: As an older brother I was built a little longer but my little brother has always been the stronger;

I know a Angel, who might have been there at the Tower of babel, a simple woman who will be going to heaven, whom I might have seen when I was seven? But has brought Joy to all that surrounds her.

I thought about a thing and it was change, sounds so simple but is it inevitable? From the time of one existence to the last breath they've taken; change is the one thing that is constant, prevalent and inescapable example; I Looked out into the biggest things;

I am writing this poem about a woman, I even introduced her to my friend whom she married and he was transcended as I comprehend it; She loves the lord with all her heart and her husband and her have never been apart; I looked up her name to see what it meant,

It is late in the year so autumn is here, A change from summer from its hot weather all crowded together, without water- life was smothered is replaced with Falls fresh air as you sit in your lawn chair, in this second like spring is changing things;

I have a dentist who should be in the book of Guinness, now just why? I'll try and apply some wisdom so you just standby. She isn't the biggest or tallest, she's not the richest or the smallest. What she has what no one else has is obvious. She lives in a office full of broken promises of smiles, damaged by long life of trials.

My Granddaughter

I have a granddaughter and to my surprise, she has been right there by my side; The first time I cared for her, she lifted her head, and looked for her mother, but I was there instead; When all others went out to play; she would look for me that day, and say I want to be with you okay? She helped me plant, flowers and plants and even built me a house for my ants; I taught her how to dance and dance, and boy could she just prance and prance, it just put me into a trance; She calls me Grandfather and doesn't understand it, then when Others announce it, for they then mispronounce it, its just not the same, so she would say, then corrects them, no he's my grandfather, not some other name, as they look on not understanding what to say; Its so strange when these little people come around, then steal your heart with such a little sound, they laugh and laugh and play and play, and even made me a wonderful bouquet; We road bikes as we gathered their friends, as all the play transcended into really hard work descended, but its all okay because we were all together that day, for all memories will be share and will be carried all their lives and declared..
