Bad Blood Poem by Aidan Henry

Bad Blood

Hey FDA,
Girl we got bad blood, just like the taylor swift song

All this time you've spent discriminating against gay men, you could have been saving lives, instead you insist on ending them

You know what the FDA stands for, right, FAGGOT DISCRIMINORTY ADMINISTRATION

And Ms. Swift was right about one thing, Band-Aid's, don't fix bullet holes.
Our friends and family died in Pulse and the one way to help was to donate our blood, something you prevented us from doing
After Pulse our community was rocked and the BandAIDS weren't helping

Another thing, because you wont let us donate, you have AIDed in creating a false stigma that AIDS is a gay disease, when time and time again science disproves you

If gay people have to come out of the closet it's about time you come out as a homophobic institution, targeting and profitting off of gay people.

Recently the FDA revised their policy, to 3 months without sex, but this revision comes during a pandemic, when it's convenient, the FDA uses us, otherwise, we're just a statistic.

If Gay people were allowed to donate blood freely, like their straight counterpart,219,000 extra pints of blood could be donated. So adjusting the ban now, does nothing, because annually, you're losing more than you gain.

So yeah FDA we got problems, and I DONT THINK WE CAN SOLVE THEM
You've made a really deep cut

Cuz, Baby, now we've got bad blood.
