Blame It On Me Poem by Lance Carthen

Blame It On Me

Blame me for the future
Blame me for the past
Once the banners burn out
Your feelings and judgements
Will not last

Blame me for the lives and the hearts you broke
The souls that you confused and the throats you choked

Everything youve done just blame it on me
For your tormented past and the tears that flow so fast
Everytime mommy cried all you could do was hide
Your own self-faith was your gift erased
Replaced by hate as your pride turned grey
Your dignity inflated but you knew it was all fake

As you grew odler, your world got colder
I think that it eventually froze
As you put me through hell and made my face swell
I think you knew one day when you really couldnt tell
My demons would be released

So why dont you just
Blame it on me when they find you dead
Floating in the water or shot in the head
Ill take the blame just blame it one me
For pulling the world out form beneath your feet
