Choke Poem by Cory Jensen

Choke

Hide behind,
Hundereds of well-construted lies.
Using the tears,
That drown the smile
To wash away the fear.
Counting the bruises
Splattered across the cheek.
Fighting to hid the scars.
Trying to pretend
That the pain isn't real.

Hoping tomorrow won't come.
It could be the last one.
Praying that it will go away.
Wake up, smell the roses.
Nothing will change.
Hurts to breathe,
No way out.
Is this it?
Is this the last?
Terror fills the mouth,
With a squeak of surprise.
Hands tight around your throat....
Never letting go.
